2011 Pathway Volleyball Invitational

The Varsity Panthers participated in the 2011 Pathway Volleyball Invitational on Friday, September 30th. and Saturday, October 1st..  The tournament was made up of seven teams from around the Midwest.  The Omaha Warriors and Omaha Lightning came from Nebraska.  The Rockford Fire and Quad Cities Christian traveled in from Illinois.  Metro High and the Comet Athletes both came from Cedar Rapids and our own Panthers rounded out the group.  The competition was great!  There were many long volleys between the teams.  No one walked away with an easy win.

The Champions of the tournament were the Omaha Warriors.  Omaha Lightning had beaten the Warriors earlier in the tournament.  They hoped to do it a second time, but it was not to be.  Rockford Fire defeated our Panthers in a very hard fought match to take third with our Panthers coming in fourth. Amber Schwartz was selected to be on the All-Tournament Team.

Good competition, great sportsmanship and a Pathway Pretzel all helped to make the tournament a success.
